My family and I went to Egmont Island (leaving from Fort DeSoto) and had a great experience with Zip and Robin from Hubbard’s Marina. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. They interacted with us and made sure we had everything we needed. Zip did a great job giving us the history of Egmont and explaining our options for our time on the island. Robin made her way around making sure we all okay and didn’t need anything else. She also took pictures for us. We had a great experience with the staff and loved the time on the island!

People on the phone and ticket stand were not all that service oriented (seemed irritated that the public was asking dumb questions). But the captain and staff on the ferry were super friendly and made the ride quite enjoyable. They even took us to another area for snorkeling.

My wife and I had a wonderful excursion to Egmont Key. We saw abundant wildlife largely due to the diligence of our captain and crew, Zip and Scott (hope I remembered their names correctly). They were able to find 3 manatees, a small pod of dolphins, including two babies. About 18” and 30” long. Also took us around the island the to see the wildlife preserve. The birds were amazing. On land we saw some gopher tortoises as well as more birds, a lighthouse and ruins of the fort. It was a great day for us.

My wife and I took Hubbard's Ferry to Egmont Key toward the end of our week vacation in the Tampa Bay area. It was our 3rd excursion of the week with Hubbard's Marina. As always, the staff was excellent. Every staff member we encountered throughout the week, including this trip, went above and beyond to ensure a good time. The boat ride is very short. Maybe 20 minutes at low speed. For the trip length, I think it is very pricey. Overpriced, in fact. However, it's the only way to Egmont Key unless you have your own boat. The little island is beautiful and interesting. There are ruins to explore and animals to watch. The beach is fantastic. The ferry is prompt. Take bug spray!

Very knowledgeable of the island. Did an excellent job locating Manatee, Dolphins and Sea Turtle for us to see. Scott and Robin were very nice and made sure we had what we needed.

We arrived to trip without phone with park app or credit card. Staff was kind enough to use her card and we reimbursed her. Todd and Brai (sp) were great. We did not find any unusual shells but did have beautiful day on the beach. It is a wonderful place for a beach day. We saw a lot os dolphins on the way back in!! The staff does not push for tips like a lot of tours do. But they deserve them, so if you go please do tip. I highly recommend this trip.

We took the ferry to Egmont Key on 5/21/24, for the snorkeling and had a great trip, the Captains, Robin & Zip, took great care of all of us. Half the people went to the island and the other half snorkeled. They put us within 10' of a pod of 6-8 manatees and we were all swimming with them, it was great. Robin & Zip were very informative and gave us a lot of interesting information on Egmont Key. We highly recommend this adventure, and will definitely do it again. Debbie & Jeff

I’m sure the island is great, but a lot of the experience was misleading. Several sites on the internet stated $20pp; the price, currently, is $45 per adult and $25 per child. The island is also not handicap accessible. They will let you know that there are walkways that are ECV accessible. Yes, there are…in the middle of the island. I will say that the captain said that it would be difficult, but this was AFTER the $45 had been paid, and we had boarded the ferry. The shell selection is basic. When “big” shells are advertised, I expect huge conch shells; it was more like whole clam shells. That’s fine, but misleading. Lots of tortoises which is cool. All in all, I’m not sure I’ll have this experience again.

The ferry service from Fort DeSoto was an enjoyable experience. The captain and mate( Zip and Brae) were very attentive and informative. We spotted turtles, dolphins and sharks. The island beaches were pristine with white sand, blue water and abundance of shells. The fort was interesting and the brick walkways was also something to see. The time on the island was just enough.

the greatest experience! the team is doing a fantastic job! the spot is perfect and the service is exceptional! In addition, I want to mark your captains - Noah and the second one (i’m so sorry, I don't remember his name), but they both are awesome! thank you!
