If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Huaraz, the nearest major city. Head south on the main road (AV. Luzuriaga) until you reach the intersection with the road to Wilcacocha (approximately 15 km). Turn left onto this road and continue for about 5 km. Look for the signs that indicate the way to Laguna de Wilcacocha. The last portion of the road may be unpaved, so drive carefully. You can park your car at the designated parking area near the trailhead.

Public Transportation
To reach Laguna de Wilcacocha via public transportation, take a collectivo (shared taxi) from Huaraz to the Wilcacocha area. These collectivos are usually found at the main square or near the bus terminal. The fare is around 5-10 soles per person. Once you arrive at the drop-off point, you will need to walk approximately 30 minutes uphill on a well-marked trail to reach the lake. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to the lake.

For those already on the Huayhuash Circuit, you can hike towards Laguna de Wilcacocha.
