Fun and informative! Take your time and read all the plaques...very interesting and educational. You can see it in an hour, but I spent considerably longer, as the exhibits are all done extremely well with lots of details and stories.

A small, packed full museum with wonderful displays, guides in period costumes, excellent video, life like wax figures, photos and news clippings from the era, etc. We took a guided tour which included a mixed drink in the speakeasy at the end of the tour. The guide was a young, energetic woman, but she was sometimes hard to hear. The museum is small and packed full of displays, with minimal circulation space. Not ideal for small groups trying to listen to a guide while others, who purchased self guided tours are also trying to look at the displays. Our #1 suggestion is to Expand! Get more space. The topic and history of the period is very engaging. The impact on society lives with us today in so many ways! ( Take the guided tour to learn about taxes, prison expansion, FBI, NASCAR, etc. Our #2=suggestion is to somehow rearrange the tour so people can first view the film and then tour the museum. The Speakeasy with drinks served in glasses from the period was fun! But again, the circulation was very tight. We came on a somewhat slow day, I can’t imagine what it is like during busy crowded times. Please expand and enlarge this charming museum.

This museum offers two tours; guided or self-guided. We chose the self-guided so as not to wait another hour for the next tour. Based on other reviews I did expect a bit more than we got. We were told before entering that there would be docents throughout the museum to answer questions and interact with us. Unfortunately, this didn't happen so we walked through reading all of the information and looking at the displays and signs which were well done. We did pass a guided tour as we walked through that, quite frankly, didn't seem all that interesting either. All she was doing was giving the information that we read verbally. Maybe we went on an off day? We paid for a ticket that included a choice of period drinks at the end which were good, and the bartender was dressed the part and had a natural long, curly mustache. He was great! In short, if you're a history buff and like museums, this museum is worth a visit, just don't expect docents to interact with you.

Nice little museum. Explore prohibition and how it affected the country. Bootleggers and their high powered cars led to NASCAR. The wax figures are very life like.

This is an amazing history of prohibition and also entertaining. The figures are so perfect you think they are human and expect them to move. Learned so much about the times and effects of this law. Thank you

It's been over a year since we visited the museum and we still talk about it often and recommend it to all of our fellow travelers! It is filled with the history of such a tumultuous time where it was neighbors against neighbors, destruction of lives and definite lines drawn in the sand. The museum does it well with lifelike wax figures throughout and well thought out purposeful displays. The final stop of the museum is a fun little time period speakeasy to enjoy a beverage or the folks dancing in the one way mirror!! Although the museum is in the highest tourist area of town and is very touristy itself, it is one of the most memorable we've been to across the US. It tells the story so realistically and completely, you'll be talking about it for awhile!

This museum is VERY well done and the guides were perfect. Knowledgeable, friendly, above and beyond really. Our guide remembered every name in our group of about 12, like right away. It was really impressive. The exhibits are thoughtful and interesting, the prohibition era cocktail at the end was fun too. This is worth the money (and I'm Dutch so you know that carries some weight).

The museum was full of very interesting pictures and information about how half of the United states were for prohibition and the other half against it, and how it caused so much of lost tax dollars that the great depression set in. It took 13 years and the 21 st amendment to repeal the Volstad act in 1933.

We had a great time- learned a lot- and then enjoyed a cocktail from the 20-30s. Lots of fun and I would recommend it.

This was a very well done museum. Although it was little, there was a ton of information and it was displayed and told in fun ways. Totally worth it. There are discount tickets on Groupon and if you buy a trolley tour, there are discount tickets through the trolley tour company. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to go through if you are reading most of the information.
