Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Coles Bay bus stop, walk along the Esplanade towards the coast. Turn right onto Cooks Beach Road and continue for approximately 2 kilometers (30 minutes) to reach Cooks Beach. Note that there may not be footpaths for the entire distance.

  • Water Taxi

    Freycinet Aqua Express offers daily water taxi services to Cooks Beach from Coles Bay Boat Ramp. The boat ramp is located on Garnet Avenue in Coles Bay. A one-way trip takes approximately 45 minutes. Pre-booking is recommended. One way tickets range from $75 - $200.

  • Driving

    From the main park entrance, head towards Coles Bay Road. Continue for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the junction for Cooks Beach Road. Turn onto Cooks Beach Road and follow it to the parking area. From the parking area, Cooks Hut is a short hike away. A National Park Pass is required to enter Freycinet National Park. A day pass is approximately AUD 24 per vehicle.
