Walking
From the center of Bicheno, head east towards Waubs Esplanade. Follow the esplanade, and you'll find signs directing you to the Whalers Lookout Scenic Reserve. The walk to the lookout entrance takes approximately 20-30 minutes. From there, it's a short but potentially steep climb to the lookout platforms. Parking is available along Fraser Street near the track entrance.

Take the Tassielink bus from either Hobart or Launceston to the Bicheno Information Centre. From the bus stop, walk east towards Waubs Esplanade. Follow the signs to Whalers Lookout Scenic Reserve, approximately a 15-minute walk. Bus fare from Hobart or Launceston to Bicheno is approximately $28-$34.

Driving
From Freycinet National Park, head northwest on Freycinet Drive towards Coles Bay Road. Turn right onto Coles Bay Road and follow it for approximately 24 kilometers until you reach Bicheno. Follow the signs to Waubs Esplanade and then to Whalers Lookout Scenic Reserve. Parking is available along Fraser Street near the track entrance. Parking fees may apply seasonally.
