    From Ibicoara, head southeast on BR-242 towards Chapada Diamantina National Park. After about 15 km, turn left onto a dirt road following signs for Cachoeira da Fumacinha. Continue for approximately 6 km on this rough road to the parking area; a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Parking is available at the trailhead. There is no parking fee. From the parking area, the hike to the waterfall is approximately 1-2 hours.

  • Public Transport

    From Ibicoara, take a local bus or shared taxi (lotação) towards the Cachoeira da Fumacinha trailhead. The ride takes about 30 minutes. Confirm with the driver to be dropped off at the trailhead. The fare is approximately R$10. From the trailhead, walk approximately 3 km to reach the waterfall.

  • Walking

    From the parking area or drop-off point, the trail to Cachoeira da Fumacinha is well-marked and takes approximately 1-2 hours. The path can be steep in some sections, so wear sturdy hiking shoes and carry plenty of water. Be prepared for beautiful scenery along the way! There are no entrance fees to the park.
