Discover more about Garganta Del Diablo

Garganta del Diablo, translated as Devil's Throat, is the undisputed star of Iguazu Falls, straddling the border between Argentina and Brazil. This awe-inspiring cataract is the largest and most powerful of the falls, where the greatest volume of water thunders down into a misty abyss. The U-shaped chasm stretches approximately 150 meters wide and 82 meters high, making it the most forceful and striking waterfall in the entire Iguazu Falls system. To reach the Garganta del Diablo, visitors traverse a 1.1km walkway that extends across the Iguazu River. This elevated metal walkway allows you to walk over the river, getting progressively closer to the falls. As you approach, the sound of the cascading water grows from a murmur to a deafening roar, and the air fills with a cool mist. The viewing platform at the precipice offers a spectacular, albeit soaking, view of the Devil's Throat, where the raw power of nature is on full display. The sheer volume of water plunging over the edge creates a mesmerizing spectacle, with vapors rising in a smoke-like plume that can be seen for kilometers. Rainbows dance in the mist, and the surrounding rainforest adds to the dramatic beauty of the scene. The Garganta del Diablo is an experience that engages all the senses, leaving a lasting impression of the majesty and force of nature.
