From the center of San Pedro de Atacama, head east on Avenida Caracoles for about 1 km. Look for signs pointing towards Licancabur. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Calle Toconao. Turn left onto Calle Toconao and follow it for about 500 meters. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating Licancabur; the volcano will be visible on the horizon. You will eventually reach the trailhead where you can start your hike up Licancabur.
