Discover more about Pavillion

Harmoniously integrated into its surroundings, the Pikionis Pavilion, often simply called "the Pavilion," was built in 1959. Designed by Petros Pikionis, it is considered one of Delphi's most beautiful balconies. The pavilion showcases a stone masonry shell, artistic elements on the walls, and impressive flooring, making it an outstanding example of Greek modern architecture. Built on behalf of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT), the pavilion has historically functioned as an entertainment venue, canteen, cafeteria, and bar. It served as a popular spot in the 1960s, attracting famous personalities such as the Karamanlis couple, Maria Callas, and Jackie Kennedy, who all enjoyed the captivating views. After falling into disuse in the late 1990s, the Pikionis Pavilion was renovated in 2022 with the support of Polygreen. Today, the revitalized space, also known as "Pi", serves as a Global Centre for Circular Economy and Culture, hosting contemporary art exhibitions and cultural activities that promote environmental awareness. The site also serves as a starting point for various hiking trails that lead to other significant archaeological sites in the region.
