From the Skaftafell Visitor Centre, head south on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for approximately 7 kilometers. Look for a sign for Hnappavellir on your left. Turn left, following the signs for the Hnappavellir Nature Preserve. Continue on this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the parking area. Note that there may be a small parking fee, so ensure you have some Icelandic krónur on hand.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from the Skaftafell bus stop towards Höfn. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Hnappavellir.
