If you're driving from the Skaftafell area, head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Kirkjubæjarklaustur. After approximately 50 km, take the exit for Route 206 towards Stjórnarfoss. Continue on Route 206 for about 10 km, then park in the designated parking area for Stjórnarfoss, which is well-marked. The waterfall is just a short walk from the parking area, following a well-trodden path.

To reach Stjórnarfoss using public transport, take a bus from Skaftafell that heads towards Kirkjubæjarklaustur. You can find the bus schedule online or at the Skaftafell Visitor Center. Once you arrive at Kirkjubæjarklaustur, you will need to either walk approximately 5 km along Route 206 to reach Stjórnarfoss or arrange for a taxi to take you directly to the waterfall. Keep in mind that taxi services may incur additional costs.

If you are staying nearby in Skaftafell and prefer to walk, follow the marked trails from Skaftafell National Park towards Kirkjubæjarklaustur. This hike can take several hours, so be sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and bring water. Once you reach the vicinity of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, follow Route 206 for about 5 km to reach Stjórnarfoss. The waterfall is a short distance from the road.
