If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Stykkishólmur, which is approximately 40 km away from Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge. Head south on Route 54 until you reach the junction with Route 57. Turn east onto Route 57 and continue until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn onto Route 1 and follow it south for about 20 km. Look for signs indicating the turnoff for Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge. The gorge is located near Hellnar, so keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Hellnar. You will find parking available near the gorge entrance. Please note that parking may incur a small fee, so be prepared with some Icelandic currency.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavík to Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Buses operated by Strætó run regularly to various destinations within the peninsula. You will want to get off at Hellnar, which is the closest stop to Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge. From Hellnar, it is about a 2 km walk to the gorge. Follow the signs leading to the gorge; you will walk along a marked path that offers beautiful views of the landscape.
