    If you're driving, start from Akureyri, the nearest major town. Take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After about 40 km, turn right onto Route 843 towards Reykjahlíð. Continue on Route 843 for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction with Route 1 again. Turn right onto Route 1 heading south for about 50 km until you reach the junction for Route 26. Turn left onto Route 26 and drive for about 20 km. Watch for signs to Aldeyjarfoss, which is located off of Route 26. The final stretch will require a 5 km drive on a gravel road, which may be rough, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for this type of terrain. There is no entrance fee to access Aldeyjarfoss.

    Public transportation options are limited in the Highlands, but you can take a bus from Akureyri to Reykjahlíð. Check the bus schedules on the Strætó website. Once in Reykjahlíð, you will need to arrange a taxi or ride-share to reach Aldeyjarfoss, as there are no direct public transport routes. The taxi ride will take around 30 minutes and cost approximately ISK 10,000 to ISK 15,000. Note that you should confirm the availability of taxis in advance, as it may not be easy to find one in a remote area.
