    If you are driving in Þingvellir National Park, head towards the Þingvellir visitor center. From the visitor center, continue on the main road (Þingvallavegur) for approximately 3 km until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork onto a gravel road (marked for Hakið) and continue for another 1 km. Hakið will be on your left, look for a small parking area where you can stop.

    Take a bus that operates between Reykjavík and Þingvellir National Park. Once you arrive at the Þingvellir bus stop, walk towards the visitor center. From there, continue along Þingvallavegur for about 3 km. At the fork in the road, take the left onto the gravel road marked for Hakið. Walk for approximately 1 km on this road, and you will find Hakið on your left. Please check the bus schedule ahead of time, as service may be limited.

  • Walking from Visitor Center

    If you are already at the Þingvellir visitor center, you can walk to Hakið. Exit the visitor center and head south on Þingvallavegur road. After about 3 km, you will come to a fork in the road. Take the left onto the gravel road to Hakið and continue for about 1 km until you reach your destination on the left. It’s a scenic walk, so enjoy the beautiful surroundings along the way!
