If you're driving, head to Þingvellir National Park. From the main entrance, take the road towards the visitor center. After passing the center, continue straight until you reach a fork. Take the left fork towards the Öxarárfoss waterfall. After about 1 km, you'll see a small parking area on your right. Park here, as Hestagjá is a short walk from this point. Follow the marked path leading down towards the rift valley where Hestagjá is located.

If you're taking public transportation, check for bus services that operate to Þingvellir National Park from Reykjavik. Once you arrive at the Þingvellir stop, you can either walk or rent a bike from local rentals. To reach Hestagjá, head towards the visitor center, then follow the same path as described for drivers, leading down to the rift valley. It's about a 30-minute walk from the visitor center to Hestagjá.

For visitors already within Þingvellir National Park, you can reach Hestagjá on foot. Start from the visitor center and take the path towards Öxarárfoss. After approximately 1 km, you should spot a sign indicating the path to Hestagjá. Follow the trail, which will lead you down the hillside and into the rift valley where Hestagjá is located. It will take about 20-30 minutes to walk there, so wear comfortable shoes.
