If you are starting from the Arezzo train station, exit the station and head towards the main road (Via Roma). Turn left onto Via Roma and continue straight. After about 700 meters, you will reach the historic center. As you approach the center, you will see the imposing medieval walls. Continue walking until you reach Piazza San Francesco. From there, follow the signs towards Piazza Grande, which is about a 10-minute walk uphill. You will pass through charming streets filled with shops and cafes. Piazza Grande is the main square and will be directly in front of you once you reach the top of the hill.

If you are at the Basilica di San Francesco, exit the church and walk down Via San Francesco. At the end of the street, turn left onto Corso Italia. Continue along Corso Italia until you reach Piazza Grande, which will be a few minutes' walk ahead. You can also take the side streets for a more scenic route, just ensure you are generally heading towards the direction of the square.
