If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, Aosta. Head north on the SS26 towards Cogne. After about 30 minutes, you will reach the junction for the SP21. Turn left onto SP21 and follow the signs toward Rhêmes-Notre-Dame. Continue on this road for approximately 25 minutes until you reach the village of Rhêmes-Notre-Dame. From there, follow the signs for Lago Goletta. Park at the designated parking area near the trailhead, which may incur a small fee (around €5) for day use.

To reach Lago Goletta via public transportation, take a bus from Aosta to Rhêmes-Notre-Dame. You can catch the bus at the Aosta bus station; the route is operated by the local transit authority. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Rhêmes-Notre-Dame, you will need to walk to the trailhead for Lago Goletta. The trailhead is about a 30-minute walk from the village. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may be limited.

After parking your car or arriving by bus in Rhêmes-Notre-Dame, follow the marked hiking trail towards Lago Goletta. The trail is well-maintained and takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to reach the lake.
