Getting There

Bus
If you are starting from Kyoto Station, head to the bus terminal located just outside the station. Look for Bus No. 100 or 206, both of which head towards the Higashiyama area. Board the bus and get off at the 'Higashiyama Yasui' stop. From there, walk straight along Rinkacho street for about 10 minutes until you reach Chionin Temple, which will be on your left.

Subway and Walk
Begin at Kyoto Station and take the Karasuma Subway Line towards Kokusaikaikan for one stop. Get off at 'Karasuma Oike' Station and transfer to the Tozai Line heading towards Uzumasa Tenjingawa. Travel for three stops and alight at 'Higashiyama' Station. From the station, exit and walk straight on Shichijo-dori street, then turn left onto Rinkacho street. Walk for approximately 10 minutes, and you will find Chionin Temple on your left.

For a more direct option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Kyoto. Simply tell the driver 'Chionin Temple' or provide the address: 400 Rinkacho, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto. The taxi will drop you off right at the entrance of the temple, making it easy to access.

If you are near the Gion area, you can walk to Chionin Temple. Head towards Shijo-dori street and walk east until you reach the intersection with Rinkacho street. Turn right on Rinkacho and continue walking for about 15 minutes. The temple will be on your right-hand side.
