Public Transport
If you are starting from Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line subway northbound towards Kokusai Kaikan and get off at Shijo Station (approximately 5 minutes). From Shijo Station, transfer to the Hankyu Kyoto Line and take a train towards Arashiyama. Get off at Kawaramachi Station (about 10 minutes). After exiting the station, head east along the main street, Shijo-dori, until you reach the Kamo River. Cross the river at the Sanjo Ohashi Bridge and continue walking east until you reach Higashiyama Ward. At the intersection, turn left onto the road leading to the temple. Follow the signs to Ryōzen Kannon Temple, which is about a 15-minute walk from the river.

From Kyoto Station, take bus number 100 or 206 towards Kiyomizu-dera. Get off at the 'Kiyomizu-michi' bus stop (about 15-20 minutes). After exiting the bus, walk up the hill towards Kiyomizu-dera and continue past the temple, following the signs. You will find Ryōzen Kannon Temple about 10 minutes uphill from Kiyomizu-dera. Look for the large statue of Kannon as a landmark.

If you are in the central area of Kyoto (e.g., near Gion), you can easily walk to Ryōzen Kannon Temple. Start at the Gion district and walk toward the Kamo River. Follow the river east until you reach the Sanjo Ohashi Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue walking east on the main road. After a few minutes, turn left onto a smaller street leading up the hill, which will take you directly to the temple. The walk will take approximately 30 minutes, with beautiful views along the way.
