Bus
From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus #205 or #17 towards 'Shimo-Gamo Jinja' or 'Shimo-Gamo' and ride for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Shimogamo Jinja' bus stop. Once you disembark, walk straight for about 5 minutes, and you will see the entrance to Shimogamo Shrine on your left.

Subway and Bus
Take the Karasuma Line from Kyoto Station to Karasuma Oike Station. Then transfer to the Tozai Line and ride to Demachiyanagi Station. Exit the station and take the Kyoto City Bus #4 or #17 from 'Demachiyanagi' bus stop towards 'Shimo-Gamo Jinja' and ride for about 10 minutes. Get off at 'Shimogamo Jinja' bus stop. Walk straight for about 5 minutes to reach the shrine.

Walking
If you are staying near the northern part of Kyoto, you can walk to Shimogamo Shrine from the nearby area of Kyoto University. From the university's main gate, head north on Yoshida Street, continue straight until you reach the intersection at the river. Cross the river, and continue walking straight for about 15-20 minutes; you will find Shimogamo Shrine on your right.
