Getting There

Subway
Start at Kyoto Station. Take the Karasuma Line (green line) towards Kokusaikaikan. Travel for about 4 stops (approximately 10 minutes) and get off at Tōfuku-ji Station. Once you exit the station, head east towards the main road (about a 5-minute walk). Follow the signs to Tōfuku-ji Temple, which is located at 15 Chome-778 Honmachi, Higashiyama Ward. The temple entrance should be visible after about a 10-minute walk.

Bus
From Kyoto Station, head to the bus terminal located just outside the station. Take bus number 202 or 207 (both heading towards Tōfuku-ji Temple). Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at Tōfuku-ji Temple Stop. The temple is just a short walk (about 3 minutes) from the bus stop. Follow the signs to the temple entrance located at 15 Chome-778 Honmachi, Higashiyama Ward.

Walking
If you are near the Gion district, you can walk to Tōfuku-ji Temple. Start at Gion Corner and head south towards Shijo Avenue. Cross the Kamo River on Shijo Bridge and continue walking straight for about 30 minutes. Once you reach Tōfuku-ji Station, turn left and continue towards the temple entrance at 15 Chome-778 Honmachi, Higashiyama Ward.
