From Kyoto Station, take the JR Special Rapid Service train bound for Osaka. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at Osaka Station. Once you arrive at Osaka Station, transfer to the JR Loop Line and take the train bound for Nishikujo Station. At Nishikujo Station, transfer to the JR Yumesakisen Line (or the JR Sakurajima Line) towards Sakurajima Station. Get off at Sakurajima Station. From there, it's a short walk to Universal Studios Japan, which is located at 2 Chome-1-33 Sakurajima in the Konohana Ward.

Bus
You can also take a bus from Kyoto to Osaka. Head to Kyoto Station and find the bus terminal. Look for buses bound for Osaka Station; the trip takes approximately 1 hour depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Osaka Station, follow the same instructions as above: transfer to the JR Loop Line, then to the JR Yumesakisen Line (or Sakurajima Line) towards Sakurajima Station. Get off at Sakurajima Station and walk to Universal Studios Japan.
