Getting There

  • Public Transportation

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line (Line 2) towards Kokusaikaikan. Alight at Shijo Station (approximately 10 minutes). Transfer to the Hankyu Kyoto Line and take the train towards Kawaramachi Station (just 1 stop). Upon exiting Kawaramachi Station, head east along Shijo-dori street until you reach the intersection with Higashioji-dori street. Turn left and continue walking straight; you will see Yasui Kompiragū Shrine a short walk ahead at 70 Shimobentencho, Higashiyama Ward.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the Gion district, you can walk to Yasui Kompiragū Shrine. Start from Shijo Avenue and head south towards the Gion area. Walk down Hanamikoji Street, which is lined with traditional wooden machiya houses. Continue until you reach the intersection with Shimobentencho. Turn right on Shimobentencho and the shrine will be on your left.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take bus number 100 or 206 towards Gion. Alight at the Gion bus stop. From there, walk towards Hanamikoji Street and turn east. Continue walking until you reach Shimobentencho where you will find Yasui Kompiragū Shrine on your left at 70 Shimobentencho.
