If you are traveling by car, the most common route to Jotunheimen National Park is via E6 highway. From Oslo, head north on E6 towards Otta. Once you reach Otta, take the exit onto Rv15 towards Lom. Follow Rv15 until you reach Lom (approximately 3 hours from Otta). Park your car in one of the designated parking areas in Lom, which is the gateway to the park.

To reach Jotunheimen National Park using public transportation, take a train from Oslo to Otta. The train journey takes approximately 5 hours. Once in Otta, transfer to a bus that goes to Lom. The bus ride from Otta to Lom takes around 30 minutes. From Lom, you can access various hiking trails and areas within Jotunheimen National Park. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary by season.

Once you are in Lom, you can access various hiking trails leading into Jotunheimen National Park. Popular starting points include the Besseggen Ridge and Gjende Lake. If you plan to hike to Besseggen, take the ferry from Gjendesheim to Memurubu (ferry ticket costs around NOK 300). From Memurubu, you can hike back to Gjendesheim, which offers breathtaking views of the mountains and lakes.
