Car Rental
To reach Choquequirao Travel from Cusco, you can rent a car. Start by heading northwest on Avenida de la Cultura towards Av. Los Incas. Continue on the main road (PE-3S) towards Abancay. After about 3 hours, you will reach the town of Cachora, which is the starting point for the trek to Choquequirao. Park your car in Cachora and prepare for the hike. Note that there's usually no secure parking in Cachora, so consider leaving your car at a local lodge or guesthouse.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Cusco, you can take a bus to Abancay. Buses leave from the Terminal Terrestre at Av. Huayruropata. The journey takes about 4-5 hours and costs around 25-30 soles. Once in Abancay, transfer to a minibus heading to Cachora. The minibus ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours and costs about 10 soles. In Cachora, you can find local guides or porters if you need assistance for your trek to Choquequirao.

If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a local taxi from Cusco to Cachora. This will be more expensive, typically around 300-400 soles, but it provides a comfortable and flexible option. The taxi will take you directly to the trailhead in Cachora, where you can begin your trek to Choquequirao.
