Friendly, great service. Was nice on the river, leaves just changing color and not too cold. They had hike recommendations, and knew the area well.

Steve was a great guide and instructor. We had not paddle boarded a river before and he was patient and encouraging. Will be something we recommend to anyone we know that comes to Asheville!

Super awesome in every way! I learned so much, and left feeling really confident on the paddle board. Unforgettable memories were made on that river. The first trip I went with out with a friend who (does not know how to swim) and she felt safe with the instructor and the instructions given to her and we really had wonderful time at sunrise. Then, my second time on the paddle board, I went alone on a self guided tour and had an amazing time again! I usually kayak but I loved this new perspective. I had to get back on that river at least once more before heading back on my 10 hour drive home. I was visiting Mount Pisgah and happened to run into Wai Mauna by the river park. Definitely glad I got up for the sunrise guided tour that first time. Thanks to the training, I really had a good time out by myself, too. I say just get out there and have fun ! New to paddle boarding or not, the wildlife is breathtaking. Get out there

We really enjoyed our time paddling with Steve on the river. He was definitely an expert who knew his stuff, and he was happy to share his knowledge with us. The one mistake we made was not bringing waters. Otherwise, it was a picture perfect day! Highly recommend for active people who are in fairly good shape. :)

Steve was an amazing guide and was extremely patient as we learned to navigate and stand on the paddle board. He also offered his broad knowledge of the river and the area and we paddled down the river. We highly recommend taking a paddle board trip with Steve!

Steve was very knowledgeable and fun! He made our first SUP experience one to remember. We had a tiny bit of rain and it was so cool to be on the river experiencing it it in a new way.

Tom and Steve took excellent care of us. Even accommodated, a same-day booking. Professional, informative and easy-going. Will surely call again when we have friends back in town!

For such an obviously experienced outfit, I would not have expected a lack of attention to detail on instruction. Be sure and ask many questions after signing that outdated waiver as Todd puts people on the river, points out rippling (what dangers might lurk I might never know) and expects you to follow his path robotically without explanation of your river environment other than its age. Look for another outfit or you might be trapped upriver wet, with no escape, miserable and wasting time and wondering why you have actually paid for the experience. Hopefully Wai Mauna takes constructive criticism in this forum better than Todd did on the water but let the fingerpointing begin!

We had a great experience paddleboarding down the French Broad River. We had never been paddleboarding before, but we received great instruction and had lots of fun!
