I felt like I was back in time! With the tour guide’s presentation and knowledge, we would do the tour again in the future! I loved the presentation from a civilians point of view. Ms. Ora was our tour guide. Please recommend her! All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming! Thank you!

Marsha was absolutely amazing!! Such a good experience for our first trip to PA. Because of her we definitely want to come back and experience it all over again and more!

Miss Marsha took us on a wonderfully enjoyable and informative walk through the Shriver house. The wealthy Shriver's home, taken over by confederates during the war, is set up as close as possible to how it looked in 1863. The sharpshooter's holes for their guns are still in the attic walls as are bullet holes on the outside. Miss Marsha gave us plenty of details about the home, the Shriver's and the reality of war during and after the battle. She did an excellent job engaging both the adults and young kids in our group. A few notes: buy tickets in advance if possible. You can get them on TripAdvisor. There are several sets of stairs in the home; some of them steep and narrow. While you only walk up one flight at a time, you do walk all the way to the attic and down two flights at once. The tour is suitable for children. There is nothing visually gory at all in the tour but dead soldiers and some realities of war are briefly mentioned.

Wasn't necessarily expecting a great experience here, but between the great tour guide, Shirley, the overall story of the place and the attic complete with sharpshooters positions, this was a very pleasant surprise!

An amazing piece of neglected history. The Shriver House tells the Gettysburg story from the civilian point of view. Our tour guide did an amazing job sharing the features of this historic place.

We decided to take a tour of the Shriver home & found it to be very interesting. Our tour guide made it interwoven & and kept our interest. We liked the gift shop as well. Even found some jacks to buy, haven't played jacks in years! Note: you need to be able to climb stairs.
