The Lego discovery center is pricey, noisy and a bit chaotic. We were surprised that all of the Lego pieces for the different activities were very basic. Even the make your own mini-fig didn't have many choices. It might be a good activity for smaller children (ours are 8 and 11) or if you don't have many Legos at home, but otherwise I don't think it's worth the money.

We came when it was not a school vacation time on Monday and had a blast with easy access to all of the attractions. Our kids ages from 7 to 13 had a lot to do.

Definitely geared toward a younger crowd but we had a wonderful time! Loved the master builder class; the master builder was very engaging.

The Lego Discovery Center is a fantastic destination for kids, offering a plethora of interactive activities that are both engaging and educational. The 4D movies are a highlight, providing an immersive experience for visitors of all ages. I went with my 6-year-old, and he had a blast exploring and playing with the various exhibits. Overall, it's a must-visit for families looking for a fun-filled day out!

Took two Lego loving kiddos-- 8yo and 10yo. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, but overall we had a good visit. There are different sections with various activities. It starts with making your own Lego figurine who accompanies you on your journey-- be sure to start with this. Once inside the main space, it's broken up into different sections. There three or four "building challenge sections" where you build a car, rocket, etc. and then test it out. For the rocket, it turns your rocket into an icon and you play a video game on the huge screen. For the cars, you run them down a ramp to see if you can soar over the "alligator" in the swamp (that's sitting in the middle of the ramp or successfully do the loop-de-loop as you "escape the volcano". These areas were very cool and a great way to bring STEM into Legos, but our biggest complaint is that we could find enough parts to build any cars. Yes, they had bins of Legos, but many of the missing didn't even "go together". There were three of us who looked for probably 20 minutes in all of the bins in this Challenge area and we couldn't find four of the same wheel. We eventually gave up and were unable to try any of the "car challenges". This definitely was a disappointment. There were also a few "free build areas". The areas encouraged creativity and the one area had extensions to writing and story telling. They also provided areas for kids to display their work. Surprisingly, we spent the least amount of time in these areas. The 4D movies were a hit with my kiddos. Note that they usually play a few different ones, so you can see multiples if you plan your time correctly. The "ride", can hardly be considered a ride, but it was fun and the kids enjoyed, but one of their wands didn't work so most of the ride was spent trying to get it working. Overall it was a fun afternoon and we spent just amount 3 hours. It was a bit pricey. Since adults must be accompanied by children, it would make sense to have adult admission a few dollars less, but alas, it's all the same price so it cost amount $90 for the three of us. There's no need to purchase add-ons. And surprisingly, the gift shop was disappointing. The girl didn't even ask for anything because there wasn't anything they wanted.

Fun experience for kids with multiple building stations, a ride and a Lego movie. The Lego city exhibit is impressive.

This was our first visit to a Lego Discovery Center, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Generally, we were happy with our visit. If we were to go again, we would forgo all of the extras like the photos (really just a few photo ops that you can then download from a website when you can take all of the pictures you want with your own camera) and the activity pack (a little booklet that you can stamp when you do an activity and some facts and additional activities that aren’t necessary given how many other things there are to do). Our 11-year-old son loved making his own minifigure. Another highlight was meeting the master builder, a super friendly, engaging guy who talked to our son about what you need to become a master builder (creativity, comfort with computer-assisted design, and the ability to engage with people of all kinds). We took a Lego building workshop with the master builder in which he taught us how to build Lego Christmas trees since it was just before the holiday. We also really enjoyed watching all three of the 4D films which are relatively short, fun, and creative. The train ride is also fun with interactive games that you play, competing against others in your train car. You can spend lots of time just looking at all the details in the Lego mini city – a good part of which is a Lego reconstruction of the Washington Mall and all its monuments including Secret Service guys patrolling on top of the White House! We also really enjoyed the rocket activity in which you build, scan, and then fly your own rocket. The Discovery Center is not cheap but you can easily spend four or more hours there. This will be a highlight for the Lego lover in your family!

This place is amazing! My 15yo and 6yo had so much fun as LEGO is one of their favorite toys. I even had a great time interacting. There are plenty of interactive activities for the kiddos, including a 12-minute 4D movie and a workshop with a master builder. There is also an indoor playground for children aged 2-6yo. Also, kids create and keep their own LEGO minifigurine. There’s a photo station where you scan your memory pass, given at check in. Scan your memory pass at the Imagination Express ride for another captured core memory. But purchase the full digital package if you want to buy more than 3 photos. Also, you’re paying for digital photos, NOT printed photos. Lastly, weekends are extremely busy. Try going during the week for lower foot traffic and lower ticket prices.

Definitely a fun-filled day for the kiddies (and parents too). The train ride was cool and my kids loved the video games with Legos. Just DONT eat there. I thought it was a good idea to partake in their on-site cafe but the food was overpriced and awful. The staff was so nice and I felt bad for them trying to keep things moving. The veggie burger was horrible, the pizza was barely edible, and I paid $4.00 for an iced green tea (Starbucks) and they could only give me a cup of tea and offered me the option to add ice. But they never gave me the ice lol. The tea tasted like water that had been sitting out for awhile. We didn’t come there for the food but then I didn’t have the option to go out and eat, and come back. Some folks brought food with them, but they must be regulars, as I didn’t know I could do that. Otherwise, the attractions were worth it.
