We choose to see Whitney and Oak Alley plantations. Both were incredible. We were staying in an airbnb in New Orleans so this made transportation to the plantations easy. You get on the bus at the Steamboat Natchez dock in the French Quarter. They drive you 1 hour to the plantations and provide a tour guide who tells you the history of the area on your trip to pass the time. Ride based apps will take you to the plantations but they wont pick you up out there so this is necessary if you don't have a car. I would highly recommend!
