We are senior citizens with mild mobility issues. Our guided tour of the Laura Plantation was excellent. In fact, this tour is well suited to visitors of all ages. (But, stairs along the tour make it impractical for people needing wheel chairs or scooters). The tour was led by a very knowledgeable guide, Jacqueline. It included the house, slave quarters, and grounds. Lots of shade and places to sit when the guide is explaining a highlight. We visited in May and the weather was pleasant. In the hotter months, though, I suggest you bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. The visitor area is pristine and welcoming. The gift shop sells snacks but there is no cafe so eat before your visit. On the other hand, the bus ride to the plantation was brutal. Despite being a late model, the 20-seat mini bus magnified every road irregularly. The terms ‘kidney jarring’ and ‘teeth rattling’ fit this bus ride. Plus, there is little to no knee room. Overall, this is a worthwhile tour.

Great tour guide. Beautiful plantation. Very informative. Will recommend to my family and friends. Now I’m just writing because it’s making say more.

This was a great alternative side of plantations, to see it from how the slaves lived and survived. Very informative.

This was beautiful! The bus we took was also super comfy! I would have loved a little more time investigating outside considering there is a lot to see and read, but overall great tour! If you do have a car and are willing to drive yourself, you could always do that and buy a tour ticket at the location.

Long drive, but comfortable mostly. Very informative tour of plantation home. Guide was very knowledgeable.

Oak alley is lovely the trees are beautiful as are all the grounds. Our guide was Amy and she was excellent..... the time through our tour company however needs another hour added on (southern tours) to enjoy the cafe and bar and there is s guide around the quarters which started at 12 but we had to leave at 11.30 so we missed this. As a further note Viator didnt pass on our day amendment to the tour company so please be careful using the app to change dates and times as we had to be up early for 2 days and chsnge our plans.

It was an amazing experience to learn the history of the slaves who built oak alley. The tour guide was respectful on crediting the slaves who built this foundation. It’s a beautiful land with a sad history. I’ll cherish this experience.
