Join us for a drive through Capitol Reefs back country to a scenic paradise of desert landscapes in our luxury 4X4 vehicle through cathedrals, temples, buttes and hoodoos that will get you away from most all of the park’s visitors. We’ll ford the Fremont River and stop at the Bentonite Hills, walk around, take pictures, talk about the geology and history of the area, stop at viewpoints along the way and enjoy the solitude, visit the iconic Temples of the Sun and Moon, see geological oddities such as Glass Mountain and ancient lava flows. This trip has tons of photographic opportunities and is missed by most visitors to Capitol Reef due to its remote location and often times challenging roads. If you're looking for a Jeep tour of Capitol Reef give us a shot, we don't drive Jeep but have more comfortable luxury vehicle to accommodate larger groups, enjoy the air conditioning on those hot summer days or enclosed SUV with a heater for the chilly days! We do winter tours as well.

Am I credible experience! Jason shares his vast knowledge of the geology, history, culture and fun facts of the Capitol Reef area. Spectacular scenery around every turn. The personalized adventure catered to our particular interests. Although not a regular feature of his tours, we spent a couple of hours digging out a cow who was stuck in the mud. Jason didn’t hesitate to get in there with his shovel and rescue knowledge to help out. We can’t recommend Waterpocket Adventure Company enough.

Jason is an extraordinary guide with endless knowledge of Capitol Reef as well as other National Parks in Utah. He clearly loves this land and his passion is contagious. He even took the time to help rescue a mother cow and her calf who were stuck in the mud. A fantastic experience the whole way around!

Jason gave us a great tour through Capitol Reef Park, Waterpocket Fold and Cathedral Valley. Jason is very knowledgeable about the geology, history, plant life, animals and paleontology. I had a lot of questions and he greatly increased our knowledge of the area. The highlight of the trip was walking through an ancient seabed of shell fragments and shark teeth. I even found a shark tooth in perfect condition. We also saw dinosaur bones imbedded in the rock.

This was a fun trip. Jason has a wide range of knowledge about the area. We learned about local flora and fauna, geology, geography and a few funny stories thrown in for good measure. I think he’s quite capable of tailoring the trip to your interests.

Dino bones, strange rocks, and epic vistas. What a wonderful experience! Jason was a fantastic tour guide, providing tons of history and insight on the beautiful land we toured. He also gave us fantastic pointers for places to check out afterwards. This added so much to our trip. Very memorable, and worth every penny!!

Our driver Jason was friendly, very knowledgeable and experienced. We stopped at sights we probably would have overlooked. His vehicle was was comfortable and designed for the unpaved 4 wheeler roads.

Jason drove us over an hour deep into Cathedral Valley to the Temple of the Moon for DARK SKY PHOTOGRAPHY. We were STUNNED at the total darkness (you can’t see your feet). But, you can see thousands of stars, including the Milky Way and Andromeda. Awesome experience! My wife and I didn’t want to leave when it was time it was so amazing. Don’t do the drive yourself. Most likely your vehicle will not make it and there is no cell service. I took some awesome Milky Way pictures, capturing the Galactic Center of the Milky Way. Attached are several pictures I took. Earlier in the day, Jason took us in the Cathedral Valley and showed us various locations where dinosaur bones are fossilized in the big rocks. The bones included vertebrae, legs, and various other bones. Pretty cool. No one would ever find those bones without Jason. He KNOWS the territory for sure! If you want to tour Cathedral Valley, do Dark Sky Photography, Jason is your guy. Oh, you need to be responsible for your camera settings for nighttime photography. It is TOTALLY DARK. Normal settings will NOT work. Jason can help, but there are so many cameras and lenses which make it iffy for him know them all.

Thanks to Jason for 'showing us around' Cathedral Valley, this was a great way to get a taste of the vast area of the northern part of the beautiful Capitol Reef Nation Park. Some of the road we were on was pretty rough and 4x4, high clearance was a must. Great way to get away from the crowds and see some of Capitol Reef we did not last time we were there. This is a Veteran-owned business, owned by Jason, and we were happy to be able to support! We would certainly recommend!! We did the half-day, which was perfect, but a full-day is also offered! Get out there!

Our guide, Jason was very knowledgeable about the history of Capitol Reef. The Expedition we rode in was nice. He showed us parts of the park we would have never seen on our own due to the rugged roads. I’m so glad we booked this tour!
