I recently took a food-tasting and mural tour of the Mission District in SF with a few friends. We all live in the area so we are familiar with the Mission but had not explored it in a few years. Jamie, our guide, was most enjoyable and gave us an interesting walking tour of the area. We enjoyed learning about the murals painted throughout the Mission, the artists' messages, and the food stops along the way. Our tour began at 11:00 am and our first stop was a burrito tasting. It was delicious, however, it was a bit too heavy to start the food-tasting tour. I would suggest starting with a tasting that was more unique and less filling. Our guide did tell us he was following the itinerary CosyMeal had put together rather than Secret Food Tours. The remainder of the food tour stops were all good – especially the Dandelion Chocolates!

Our tour guide Jamie was wonderful - very knowledgeable and kind. Food was copious and flavorful. The local restaurants we went to were very authentic - not the usual tourist traps, We especially liked our tour of the murals in the Mission. Jamie did a great job explaining the history and symbolism of the paintings.

An eye opening few hours that introduced us all to the Mission District, the Latin culture, the food and some of history of the area. Mark did a great job sharing his culinary experience and the stories behind the food we sampled. I can honestly say we wouldn’t have found or understood the wonderful food we had today without the tour. We met some lovely people in the group too!
