Segway tours are always a fun way to see the city. Our tour guide Asa was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Galveston. He also gave good recommendations for restaurants and sites to visit. The tree carvings were impressive and the historical homes were beautiful. The tour started in the Strand. We went through the historical homes at the East end where the carvings were located and then also rode on the Sea Wall sidewalk. I would recommend this tour early in your visit of Galveston so that you can get ideas on other sites/ activities to see and do. Our tour lasted over 2 hours , which I enjoyed, but we forgot to bring water with us. I highly recommend this tour. Everyone on the tour had ridden on Segways before so we only had to watch an instructional video. But I’m sure they would help anyone get accustomed to it more if they needed more practice before starting the tour.

My friend and I booked this tour with Viator, we were in Galveston to go on a cruise and we came in a day early. We are both in our 60's and had never ridden a Segway before. There were two others in the tour, a father and teenage son, and our guide, Aaron. We were able to get acclimated to the Seg pretty quickly. I will warn you that your legs get really sore pretty quickly- I had not expected that! My feet were cramping terribly. However, Aaron had breaks scheduled in, which really helped. Aaron knows his stuff- learned so much about Galveston history, art, etc. I particularly enjoyed his story about the 3 use fountains (horses, dogs, people) and how helpful those were to the city at the time. And the gorgeous historic houses. I never knew Galveston had such a history or that it had been such a center of wealth at one time. Also learned a lot about the hurricanes, especially the one from 1900 (or 1901)? We covered a lot of ground - no way this could have been done on a walking tour. I would absolutely recommend and would do another SegCity tour if I am back in Galveston.

My friend and I were in Galveston to take a cruise; we came in one day early and had booked the tree carvings tour in advance. This was the first time either of us had been on a Segway. We enjoyed the tour very much! We were both nervous about the Segway but it was pretty easy to use after a few minutes practice. We are both in our 60's. Our guide was amazing, he was so full of knowledge about Galveston's history. We roamed all over town- downtown, tree carvings, historic houses and out to the port. I learned so much about Galveston's history and other things in just a few hours. The weather was perfect. When the tour was over, our guide gave us very detailed directions as to how we could walk to the restaurant we had booked for dinner. I would definitely do a tour with SegCity again.

This was a fabulous tour. The segways are so much fun. It takes jus ta few minutes to learn to ride. You do need to be able to balance well. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Galveston. The tree carvings were so cool to see.

First time on Segway our guide was fantastic and showed us both historical & tree carving as booked plus visiting tall ships that happened to be in dock. Great fun way to see historical Galveston

This was one of the best excursions I have ever done! Jay, our guide had a vast knowledge of the history of Galveston which enabled us to see the town through a whole new lens. I did the trip with my teenage son, who despite affecting boredom, was able to regale my husband and other son with all the stories of pirates and mafia wars when we caught up later. We both loved it and I would highly recommend this to anyone!

My daughter and I throughly enjoyed this tour. We were skeptical at first, but Asa our guide was very informative about using the Segway. Being 67 years old I was a little leery, but after a while, became confident. Asa was an excellent guide and knowledgeable about the history of Galveston. We definitely would go again..
