Surprised my Mom with this tour for her birthday. She was delighted, and is already planning to return for the Gullah Festival. Our guide, Dean, was clearly passionate and very well read. He was a fountain of information and even led the group in a singing of Happy Birthday for Mom, she was quite touched. Would certainly recommend.

This tour was one of the hallmarks of our week's stay in Beaufort. Lillie, a lifelong resident from the Frogmore area of the Sea Islands and a retired local school teacher, brought so much of her family's and neighbors' history, culture, lifestyle and language to life. While a three-hour tour, it passed by so quickly, in part because of the energy and heart that Lillie brings to her talks. Between St. Helena and Lady's Islands, the Penn Center, the Brick Church, and Coffin Point and its praise house, we covered centuries of history and life. Lillie's skills as a superb teacher are amply on display; she truly brings to life so much of her community's life and times, both the highs and lows. Lovely and poignant. I'd highly, highly recommend this tour, and make sure that you ask for Lillie when you book this.
