I had booked an afternoon easy hike to Valley of Fire on May 10, but agreed to be bumped to a ''moderate'' hike since no other participants had booked the easy hike that afternoon. Be aware: it's not easy breazy quick tourist-y tour. It's an actual hike where you climb on rocks and it's pretty challenging. I am a glad I wore my hiking shoes for this. When we started, i was like ''What did I get myself into. I'll break a leg or my back?''. It turns out I rised up to the challenge and completed the activity in relatively good shape. Participants should know that the moderate hike is challenging and that there are safety risks (the company makes you sign a waiver), especially for non-hikers. Anyway, Valley of Fire is breathtaking and I enjoyed the view. Snacks, water and Gatorade were provided, which was nice. What I didn't like is that the ad on Viator mentions ''hotels pick-up and drop-off''. Even though I was staying at Luxor, the company told me the meeting point was Park MGM. I didn't mind walking there at noon for the pick-up. However, upon return, I asked the guide/driver to drop my off at Luxor because I was tired and my legs were sore. He refused and got a bit snippy: ''Where did I pick you up? They (the company) told me (to drop you off at the same spot)''. So I kind of wobbled back to Luxor, cursing at the driver. Before the trip, there were also communications issues. They were saying that I hadn't confirm the level-change, which I had done.

This hike was exactly what we were looking for. Only an hour drive from Vegas and even at the moderate level it wasn’t too strenuous. Sarah, our guide, was fantastic. She was right on time for pick up and drove really safely. We felt really comfortable with her. She was knowledgable about the park and was friendly and fun. We felt like we’re in good hands with her. She took pictures for us and gave us enough time To enjoy the scene while staying on track. We took the 6 AM option and we’re back at the strip by 11 AM. Really enjoyed it, and I would recommend it to our friends!

Loved our hiking tour! It was one of the best experiences I’ve had traveling. Our guide, Michael, was awesome, he gave us a unique tour of the valley with the stops at picturesque places to take pictures and reflect on the beauty of this place. Our group was 6 people which was a perfect size for individualized approach. I was by myself and a little anxious before going but once I met the guide and the group, I felt safe and at ease.

What a fantastic experience! If you’re having fun in Las Vegas but yearn to find out what it’s like in the impressive mountains that surround the city, this is for you. I did the moderate Valley of Fire hike and it was the experience of a lifetime. Outstanding scenery, incredible plants and wildlife, and stunning evidence of past inhabitants. Tour guides Nick and Falana where brilliant – knowledgeable, helpful and well-organised.

I had a wonderful time! Sarah has been a perfect guide, she took the time to let us enjoy the silence of the rocky desert and to explain all the different types of vegetation. The trekking experience together was just amazing. Highly recommended tour.
