I love this place. I love this place. I love this place. What do they do that's so great? 1. They make the best product I've ever had. As someone with celiac who has to have gluten free beverages, I've tried every "dry" cider I can get my hands on anywhere I travel in the world. They are all BORING and unflavorful compared to the options at Broad Street. 2. They are unpretentious. There's no pomp and circumstance and pretty art on pretty cans. There's pretty art where it matters -- on the walls, where it will last. (But more on that in point #3). They sell great product in a no-frills environment where you can still somehow buy a single-origin fancy-pants chocolate bar without being talked down to? Major win. 3. They are about as environmentally friendly as a specialty alcohol business can be. Jars are returned and reused. No need to dispose or recycle -- they take their stuff back. Shipping containers are returned and reused. Many thoughts to their customer's wallets and planet earth. Bravo in doing it right and not charging us through the behind to do it. 4. You can sit around and shoot the ... spit ... with the owners. That always gets a plus in my book. So what do they not do right? Well, the owners' personal history in California clashes with my personal history in Florida, and they somehow still claim that Disneyland is better than Disney World, but I won't ding them a star for that. New Orleans is known for its excellent drinking and dining in a socially mixed, welcoming environment that doesn't blow smoke. BSC gets that right, and I hope they are around for decades to come for me to enjoy the ride.
