When your in San Francisco this is a must do! Great tour around the old cellblocks and the island. Make sure to go on a nice day as you’ll get great pictures of the city, we didn’t as it was very misty. It was just quite pricey and you couldn’t go round most parts of the island(for health and safety) understandable.

The audio tour of Alcatraz was informative and insightful. It created a personal experience. I would hoghly recommend the tour. Boat cruise was really nice... i got to see some beautiful imagery of the city, Alcatraz the Golden gate bridge and the bay. Be sure to bring a jacket

VIATOR ruined my planned trip to Alcatraz. .. understand there are no refunds but when my trip had another unavoidable delay not caused by me and you can't reschedule or get some type of refund shows how one way VIATOR's approach is. Bad company policy ....avoid booking with them

We had a lovey trip today to Alcatraz, and a tour round three bay. Booking a combination ticket means you secure the trip - which is often sold-out when you get there. However you do pay a lot more than it would cost of you just rock up - but there’s a large risk it will be sold out if you do that. So we bit the bullet and booked the combination trip ahead of time. Trip was lovely, and is a short hop across the water to the island, where you have an audio tour of the cel blocks, and you can explore the rest of the island at your own pace, and the beautiful gardens. There’s plenty of informative posters and plaques dotted around, and we came away with a really positive view of the place - although it is sobering to see how people were incarcerated here. This prison was FAR FROM being a holiday camp - you would not want to spend a week here, let alone months or years, or decades… The ferry around the bay was lovey, and an hour is about right for the trip around the bay. There’s a narrative on the boat explaining the history, which was nice. The staff at this place were wonderful, and we came away after a long day having had a great time. I do recommend this trip, and yes you could save money booking when you’re there, but apparently this sells-out a lot, and you risk missing out.

I loved this trip! I have always wanted to come here as it's a great piece of history. Walking the island truly gave me an idea of what it was like when prisoners were there. It was so cool, but also sad to see some of the building's conditions. I definitely recommend this tour!

This trip was the highlight of our stay in Sanfransico. Brilliant tour, if and when you arrive its worth waiting at the pier for the guided tour on the walk up to the main prison block were you then get your free audio guide. There are a few scheduled talks and demonstrations which you are told the times off and we went to the talk about Al Capone, which was very very interesting, and the demonstration on how the cell door mechanism works was also very informative, all in all definitely worth the money and you can stay on the island as long as you want. TIP ... take some food with you as no shop selling snacks on the island but you can only eat when you are at the pier area.

We got to met William Baker an inmate from Alcatraz. He was very interesting to talk to. It was cool to see the Anglin brothers cell. The whole island was very cool! The bay cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Area was really awesome!

Nice self guided tour of Alcatraz. The bay cruise was flexible on what time you go. A lot of areas on Alcatraz were closed to visitors so even though there is a lot to see there could be even more!

Excellent insight into the life of the prisoners. Made more exciting that there was an actual inmate that had served time on Alcatraz signing his book. And the gardens were very good.
