Yulee

(Pass by)

Our Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is a calm, blackwater channel that meanders through the forested wetlands of Yulee, Florida.

Lofton Creek

A primordial waterway, Lofton Creek features water that is dark in color, created by the tannins which leach into the water as vegetation decays. Replete with bald cypress, sweet gum, and rare flowers like pickerelweed and wild azaleas, this unique ecosystem is reminiscent of an old south bayou – brackish water teeming with unique plants, animals, and reptiles. Native Americans most likely fished these waters and cultivated the land for thousands of years before the Spanish, French, and English arrived in the mid-16th century.

How informative Rachel, our guide, was. The beauty of the area. Loved all the bird sounds. The group was small which made it easier to maneuver in the kayaks.

The guides were amazing and patient. It was my first time kayaking and they made sure I didn't get left behind. The water was still and calm. I plan on doing this on a regular basis.

What a fantastic day! A huge thank you to Catherine for working with our schedule and range of experience in our group to find the perfect kayaking experience for us. We had an amazing afternoon with our guide Stacey who was incredibly knowledgable and helpful during our trip. He knew all the best spots for animals (we saw many including a baby alligator and a not so baby/quite large alligator!) and unique foliage of the area. Couldn't have asked for better! Thank you!
