Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

LOS ANGELES COLISEUM The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is an American sports stadium located in the Exposition Park. The stadium serves as the home to the University of Southern California (USC) Trojans football team. The Coliseum is the first stadium to have hosted the Summer Olympic Games twice, in 1932 and 1984. DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES Unlike other large cities, many people visit Los Angeles without ever setting foot Downtown. That’s a shame, since Downtown LA is rich with historic architecture and cultural attractions, not to mention sports and entertainment complexes. This slide show gives you a preview of some of the cool things to do in Downtown Los Angeles that are worth a visit.

Griffith Observatory

GRIFFITH PARK OBSERVATORY,Hollywood Sign: The observatory is a popular tourist attraction with an excellent view of the Hollywood Sign, and an extensive array of space and science-related displays.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

WALK OF FAME (Hollywood Blvd) Grauman's Chinese Theatre - The Hollywood Walk of Fame - - Kodak Theater, (Home of the Oscars) - The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel , and many more famous places too numerous to list... Since the first star was awarded to Joanne Woodward, in 1960, celebrities and fictional characters that have contributed to the entertainment industry here have recognized with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. There are now more than 2,300 of these five-pointed bronze stars including some of the most recent honorees such as Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx and Forrest Whitaker and The Munchkins, stars of the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz.

Sunset Plaza

Lunch at Mel's Diner:The ultimate 50’s dining experience! George Lucas filmed scenes for American Graffiti at a Mel’s Diner. The one on Sunset Strip, where we stop for lunch on the full-day tour, is still a great place for celebrity spotting! You don’t “have” to have lunch here – but why wouldn’t you want to? You just might recognize someone famous at the next table. Don’t let their clever disguise (Rayban(tm) sunglasses) fool you! Dine with the stars!

Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive: This is a city where the pawn shops are called “collateral lenders,” and make quick loans on Mercedes and Ferraris instead of toasters. This is a city where some of the clothing stores require customers to make advance reservations to shop, and where shoppers may routinely drop $100,000 or more in a single visit to a boutique on Rodeo Drive or Wilshire Blvd. A city where the post office offers valet parking. This town’s “Sister City” is none other than Cannes, France.

Santa Monica

Santa Monica Beach: Follow America’s most famous cross country highway to the Pacific Ocean, and you will find yourself at the Santa Monica Pier. Designed as a pleasure palace and park a century ago, currently this restored family playground is gearing up for its 100th Gala in 2009.

Venice Beach

Venice Beach: Hilary Duff shot a video here, Jim Morrison and the Doors and bandleader Benny Goodman both got their careers started here, and now it is the place actors Jane Fonda, Viggo Mortensen and Elijah Wood call home. Please note: Due to Venice Beach city conditions, we might substitute Venice Beach to Fisherman's Village in Marina Del Rey. It’s Venice Beach, the free-spirited beach resort town beloved for its Bohemian character, boutiques, street performers, artists, fortune tellers on the boardwalk and as a stellar place for people-watching (not to mention star-gazing)!Muscle beach and much more....( LAX drop off is available at the end of the tour: 4:00 pm).

Tour was not a full 8 hours, was just a little over 6. The Griffith Park Observatory was skipped. Rodeo Dr. was skipped. Santa Monica Pier was skipped. Guide, Gabriel, did not make it clear that we would not be visiting the Hollywood sign prior to stopping at the Walk of Fame. Guide was very distasteful in what was said, for example, speaking about going to strip clubs, repeatedly. Guide provided no information on the history of Los Angeles. Multiple people on the tour questioned the guide about skipping stops, the guide either ignored us or gave false information, for example, said the bus was not allowed on Rodeo Dr., however the other tour bus from that day did go onto Rodeo Dr. Website states you will be transported in a 14 passenger Mercedes Benz bus, we were on a large motor coach. Guide kept saying prior to the first stop that he had to "pee" and he will push everyone out of the way to get to the bathroom first. Extremely uncomfortable with this, very poor language over the entire day. At one point guide wanted driver to turn onto a residential street, the driver explained the coach was to large to be on residential streets, a while later, the guide instructed the driver to turn onto a street, stating he would be ok, only to find ourselves on a residential street! The guide knew that the driver stated the coach could not be on residential streets, but put us all in danger by having him travel onto a residential street anyway. The guide was clearly just in a hurry to make a few stops and get us back to port as quickly as possible, assumingly so he could get back to the strip club and eat chicken wings as he repeatedly stated throughout the morning. The entire tour was very uncomfortable and ruined by the guide, missed stops, and cut short.

This was a lovely tour, we were stuck for what to do as we had a long wait between getting off the boat and our 9pm flight and having our luggage with us. Not only was our guide very knowledgeable he was also funny and showed us so many things! I would recommend this tour to anyone that needs something to do before their flight!

We found that the tour was very good especially the morning we enjoyed the observatory and Hollywood including Mels Diner, we would like to have known who lived in some of the Beverly hills properties and also a stop in Rodeo Drive rather than Venice beach

We really enjoyed driving around seeing the architecture and famous places. Sorry we did not go to Mel’s diner.

The guide was very knowledgeable. However, we did not visit sites on the itinerary as per the website. Did not visit Observatory, Santa Monica pier, Rodeo Drive. Spent full day of driving around without really looking and stopping at highlights. Very disappointed and so were other passengers. Started 45 minutes late as had to wait for passengers arriving late. Very disorganized in the morning, sorting out passengers and buses.

Alberto was our driver/guide. He was awesome!! Very knowledgeable of the area and its history. Alberto has a great personality, he was funny and made us laugh. He picked us up promptly after we got off a Carnival Cruise at Long Beach terminal. He loaded our luggage and dropped us off at LAX after our tour. He drove a high rise van that was comfortable. I was a little skeptical in the beginning but I was pleasantly surprised with the tour. On the way to our scheduled sights he told us the history of the areas we were driving through. Some of the tour was ride by but we did get out at a few places. He carried us to lunch at Mel’s Drive In. The food was a little expensive but it was very delicious. I would highly recommend booking the City of Los Angeles from Long Beach. We visited a lot of places, saw a lot of sights and had great food. I only wish we could have spent more time at the places we visited but I also know it was a day paced full. You can only do so much in 8 hours. Thanks Viator/Sun Seeker Tours and Alberto for a great adventure!!

We saw LA in one day! Alberto was great, very knowledgeable about everything. Really thought an 8 hour tour would get boring but Alberto would not let that happen. We saw everything we wanted to see and learned alot about " behind the scenes" stuff. Would defiantly recommend this !

Cruise guide was very knowledgeable of the area, kept to the schedule while still allowing enough time to explore. His jokes were also funny. I would definitely recommend this tour to others.

John was good driver, The audio system left a lot that could improve, maybe a longer mike on the headphone setup. I and my wife enjoyed seeing areas we heard about and not having to drive it on unfamiliar roads.

Andrea_M

Our tour guide was awesome, we stopped at several places and he gave us very reasonable amounts of time to view the sites. He was very personable and knew a lot about the city of LA.
