Santa Fe Opera House

(Pass by)

There have been three theatres on the present site of The Santa Fe Opera's approximately (now) 150 acres of land. Each has been located on the same site on a mesa, with the audience facing West toward an ever-changing horizon of sunsets and thunderstorms, frequently visible throughout many productions when no backdrops are used. Over the years, because of the first and second theatres' exposure to weather, rains covered audiences and orchestra members (and threatened the latter's instruments), requiring occasional cancellations, postponements, or extended intermissions.

We are not in US or in Mexico. The blend of cultures, arts, museum and local fashion help to understand this part of American culture.

Iā€™m telling you Corn Maiden Tours and Mae are absolutely the way to go. Maeā€™s knowledge of Archaealogy, Geology, Educuation and the local indigenous peoples make for a truly amazing experience. Canā€™t wait to go back!!

Mae Araujo provided wonderful insight into the culture and land that we toured. She answered all our questions and provided unique perspective. We had a great time, learned a lot and will remember this trip fondly. It was our first time in Albuquerque and Santa Fe and I feel like we would have missed out if we hadn't gone on this tour. Book it, you won't be disappointed!

We did the Northern Pueblos Tour and Taosā€¦Mae is amazing, her knowledge, her kindness made our visit to NM unforgettable.

Mae was our guide for a full week touring Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Taos and all points in between. She has worked at all 19 Pueblos and was able to give us an in depth view of life on the pueblo, culture and history of the areas we toured and show us jaw-dropping scenery in out of the way places. She also guided us to the cuisine of the area. Mae was personable and extremely knowledgeable, a rare combination. This was our first visit to the Southwest and the introduction to area could not have been any better.

We had a superb tour with Mae. Our favorites stops were the children's church and the marvelous scenery stops. We also appreciate the handout she shared with us on the Pueblo locations and traditions.

I spent two days with Mae Araujo , who was one of the guides for Corn Maiden Tours. The tour took place at the end of October, 2021. Mae picked me up in Santa Fe and for the next two days we experienced the Turquoise Trail which included coal mining towns, turquoise mines, , the Poeh Cultural Center, the village of Chimayo, the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the Camino Trails. Mae was an outstanding guide who was knowledgeable, flexible and extremely friendly. I do not hesitate to recommend this group whose office is in Albuquerque.

Amy was a wonderful guide, knowledgeable and peaceful. She led us through the wonderful tapestry of Chimayo and we were able to make the most of travel during the age of COVID. We were all vaxxed so that made the trip even more peaceful. One highlight was the restaurant - so good! I look forward to traveling with her in the future.
