If you are looking for an amazing whitewater experience Idaho Adventures is the outfit to choose! We took the one day float excursion down the salmon river filled with class 2plus and 3 rapids.  (They do offer 6 person paddle rafting.)  Our job was to hang on for dear life and stay in the raft helped by following commands given by our very accomplished , professional, knowledgeable and friendly   River guide, Rose who handled the oars and made it look easy going thru each set . The owners Everett , Jaz and river guide Rose from Idaho Adventures provided us with an over the top experience on the river not to be forgotten!!!!

An awesome trip. Our guide was knowledgeable about the area & was an experienced rafter. Forgot his name. We felt safe. Oh our ages 75 & 79. But active seniors. Guide made us feel welcome.

We reached out to Idaho Adventure not knowing who or what they represent and had nothing but a very positive experience! We booked our day float in August to celebrate our dad's 80th birthday, back in February. Great communication! Always responsive either through phone or email. Gave us recommendations for local Airbnb's that worked out fantastic for our group of 23! Guides were professional, fun to interact with, took safety seriously but knew when to have a good time. We booked 3 private rafts & got a group discount which is advertised on their website and well worth the booking! Lunch & drinks were provided and was fresh and delicious! We would definitely book with them again! We were so lucky to watch a bald eagle swoop from a tree and go in front of our boat about 6 feet away and snatch a 24" fish out of the water! We felt like it was a birthday omen come true!!

Our overnight on the Salmon was fantastic! The menu was great, plenty of food cooked to perfection. Camp site was superb. Jamie and Andy were great to hang out with, good conversationalists, and loved Andy's mandolin at the campfire. We're now contemplating a Middle Fork or Main adventure in the future. Great trip!

A+ experience. Salmon is a small town enroute between Salt Lake City and Missoula, in a historic area that Louis and Clark passed through. The company's office/store is right on the river in the middle of town. We wanted to break up the drive, so we called Idaho Adventures and arranged a full-day paddle on rather short notice. They were very accommodating - I actually ran a whitewater kayak while my wife and son were in the raft. I've been rafting a reasonable amount both in the US and abroad, so I do have some reference points. First, meeting in the morning was easy and at a not-crazy time (8:45 am). The office is within a short walk of nearly every lodging option in Salmon. The shuttle to the put-in was fairly quick, maybe 35 minutes in their van on a good road through beautiful countryside. Put-in was quick and easy. The run itself is great. We ran the upper main salmon (if I recall correctly) for about 15 miles. It was plenty of on-water time, with a classic pool-and-drop style river, where each rapid is followed by a few minutes of calmer water. This is an ideal setup both for safety in case someone does swim and for overall enjoyment, since you get a minute to look for wildlife and just enjoy the physical surroundings. There's a bigger Class III rapid just past a bridge mid-day that was a particular highlight of the run. Lunch was classic river fare and we enjoyed it very much. We made one additional mid-run stop to see a really fascinating mine just a few minutes walk from the bank, and another stop on the return shuttle to see very well-preserved petroglyphs. We had the particular fortune of getting to talk with the owners a fair bit - one in particular is an extremely experienced long-time river guide. They both have been on rivers all over the west and chose to settle in Salmon because of the quality of the river itself and life in general. They're very friendly and also run some mid-length trips, like 3 days. We hope to do one of those next time we're in the area. The company is fairly small, so they're in a really great position to do smaller or specialty trips in the area as well. The area is currently a bit undiscovered. I don't think we saw any other commercial trips on our run, maybe 1-2 private trips only. Given what a beautiful area it is I'd expect they'll grow quite a bit in coming years. We had a great trip and I hope we get to do a multiday with them in the future!

My friend and I had an amazing experience! I recommend everyone to experience the scenic float because the views were breathtaking and the staff was very friendly and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better way to see the salmon river and the beauty with it. Without a doubt, this company deserves a 5 star rating with excellent customer service and having skilled staff to guide people down the Salmon river. AMAZING JOB, IDAHO ADVENTURES!

Our family just enjoyed a one day whitewater rafting trip with Idaho Adventures. It is the highlight of our trip and our 12-year-old daughter claimed it will be the highlight of our summer. The crew and our guide were wonderful! They were fun, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable. They provided all the equipment needed and a shore lunch. We felt safe and prepared even though we are relatively inexperienced with rafting. This is a definite must do if you're looking for some fun adventure in the area.
