My wife and I had never previously been to Alaska. We signed up for a tour of Turnagain Arm with Savage Tours and found it to be a fun and informative trip. We were picked by owner/operator Mary Savage, who is warm, conversational and very informative of the area and history of Alaska. We not only learned about Alaska, but about her family who are indigenous Athabaskan people. We culminated the journey down the Turnagain Arm at the animal preserve. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and cannot imagine doing this tour with anyone but Mary.

We enjoyed getting to know Mary Savage and how connected she is to her heritage, history, family and the land and history of Alaska. She shared the land, plants, animals, waters and history in a meaningful and fun way. We look forward to going back to Alaska and spending time with her again!

Savage Tours was excellent. Not only did I get to see Alaska, but I also learned about the culture and native people. This was a great way to spend the afternoon learning from those with first-hand knowledge.

Mary was charming with a deep rooted history of the area, being of native and colorful heritage. The trip was fascinating and left us with a deeper understanding of the local culture and habits, and a huge respect for how the dynamics of the Americanization of Alaska has changed the lives of the “locals” forever.

We had a great time on this tour. Mary was brilliant, provide great information of the area and about her First Nation heritage. We made a few extra stops enabling us to get some great pictures. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed Ms Mary Savage. We were able to meet her parents. Very caring family . The scenery is awesome and the tour wasn't jammed pack until we arrived to the animals.
