All tours depart from Salem's Old Town Hall, on the three steps. A local historian guides you through the cobblestone-lined streets of this 17th century city by the glow of lantern light. Explore the driving factors behind the infamous Witch Trials Hysteria of 1692, meeting real practicing witches along the way. Learn about the rise of Salem as a world-class haunted seaport, creating some of the wealthiest families in its history.

Essex Street Pedestrian Mall

One of the most photographed sites in the city, the Bewitched statue will be your next stop. Learn how the locals *really* felt about this 9 foot bronze statue being dedicated in 2005. Why are their security cameras fixed on Samantha?

I must begin by emphasizing that Ryan was truly the finest guide we've ever had the pleasure of touring with. As a passionate enthusiast of historical tours, I make it a point to experience one in every new destination I visit. Yet, without a doubt, this tour stood out above all others. Ryan, our guide, exuded a remarkable blend of animation and profound knowledge about Salem's history, transporting us back in time as if he had personally witnessed events from 400 years ago. His delivery was not only engaging and educational but also infused with humor that kept us thoroughly entertained. Ryan's mastery of dad jokes added a light-hearted touch to the experience. Moreover, his attentiveness extended beyond storytelling; he ensured our safety as we navigated the streets, expertly guiding us away from pitfalls and illuminating hazardous areas with his lamp. I wholeheartedly endorse embarking on a tour with Ryan, particularly the History and Haunting Walking Tour. In every aspect, his expertise and care elevated our journey into an unforgettable adventure.

We went on a tour with Ryan from Witch City tours and he was absolutely amazing! You can tell he is passionate about his job. He was also really sweet, making sure that all the members of the group were safe while walking through the dark city. Definitely recommend him and this group to others. Great story teller and the drama he puts behind it makes you wanna listen for hours.

Justin was an amazing tour guide! He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and really told the stories with flair. Though it was a long walking tour (compared to many others we've done), he kept us engaged and entertained the whole time. It really gave us a much deeper understanding of what actually went down in Salem, vs what we thought. Would highly recommend this tour in Salem. Thanks a million, Justin!
