Melrose Avenue

Renowned street artist Colette Miller has painted angel wings all over the world and they’re now considered to be an iconic street art trend. So if you want to get in on the action too, head down to 7769 Melrose Ave where she’s painted the street’s very own pair of wings. All addresses and names are provided in the written guide.

Melrose Avenue

7769 is a postcode where there’s a load of street art going on; it’s worth coming round here every couple of weeks to see what’s new. One of the best pieces here is of tennis player Billie Jean King and one of her most iconic quotes, part of Meg Zany’s ‘Courage Has No Gender’ campaign. All addresses and names are provided in the written guide.

Melrose Avenue

If the bold pink of the Pink Wall is a bit too much for you, you’ll probably prefer the calmer turquoise wall. Rather than being one strip of color, this wall balances the turquoise strip with colorful stripes of different colors, giving a feeling of balance and dimension. All addresses and names are provided in the written guide.

Melrose Avenue

Dedicated to the people of LA rather than tourists, this sign has become one of the city’s favorites. While it may not be as colorful as some of the other murals on this list, Made in LA is still one of the best murals to get those Instagrammable selfies with. All addresses and names are provided in the written guide.

Melrose Avenue

Featuring two rainbow sizes – one for kids and one for adults – it may initially seem that they are painted onto the wall but they are, in fact, crocheted, making the Rainbows Wall one of the more unique pieces of street art on Melrose. Get a pic in direct sunlight for the best texture effect. All addresses and names are provided in the written guide.

The Paul Smith Pink Wall

Probably the most famous of all the street art on Melrose Avenue – if not the entire city – the Pink Wall is exactly what it says. Located at Paul Smith, it catches your eye due to the huge strip of neon pink and you’ll probably also see lots of Instagrammers and celebs wandering about here and taking snaps. All addresses and names are provided in the written guide.

Melrose Avenue

In an effort to compete with Paul Smith, Carrera Cafe put up their own wall directly across from it. While it always says hello, the theme around it changes pretty often, so keep an eye out for it every time you’re in town! All addresses and names are provided in the written guide.

Melrose Avenue

If you’re a dog lover, a visit to the pug mural is a must! This cool-looking pug with sunnies will make a great addition to your Instagram account! All addresses and names are provided in the written guide. All addresses and names are provided in the written guide.

Melrose Avenue

Black and White Mural by RETNA, 8826 The contemporary artist RETNA has a few examples of street art dotted around LA, but it’s this mural which is one of his most famous. Located just round the corner of this black and white mural is an even bigger blue version. All addresses and names are provided in the written guide.

The overview of the area was interesting and well done. But the document was really huge and difficult to download on the go. And it lacked an actual map with pins of the locations where we were going - which for a walking tour, seems crucial. We ended up depending on the list of addresses to find our way. At that point, several of the murals which were listed were in fact no longer there. So it was really of minimal utility and not worth the money - I could have googled a location for breakfast and just walked down Melrose to look at storefronts and murals just as easily.

I thought that when you said it was a tour by yourself you were paying to enter or be in exclusive areas to take instagram photos. and that I was not going to pay for a ticket for 2 people. For something that anyone has access, it is absurd that they charge for something that is on the street and nobody pays I feel scamed
