The experience was fun and it was helpful to not have to choose a trail when I was unfamiliar with the area. The hike was beautiful, though it might have been even better in spring. The guides provided some bottled water, a few packaged snacks and a great lunch (veg friendly!). They communicated well about what to expect and helped take photos for us. I enjoyed hearing some of the history and information the male guide shared, but I later found that some of it was inaccurate. I would encourage the male guide (Norm) to remember that he was "on duty" - meaning that he was occasionally unprofessional in a way that impacted our experience. Ex: Stopping the full group so he could look inside a hole he found (even as the full rest of the group wanted to keep moving), stopping the full group to give a long monologue about something unrelated to the hike (outside of conversations we had along the way), discussing conspiracy theories, etc. Lastly, there were some gender dynamics that made me uncomfortable - like the male guide talking over female guests or the male guide making a critical (passive aggressive) comment to the female guide when she was taking photos, but having the audacity to make the full group wait for him whenever the mood struck (see above examples). I think that if the male guide can remember that he is there for the paying guests (not for his own adventure), ensure the accuracy of the information shared and do some authentic work around addressing bias and misogyny, it could be a 5 star experience. I have no complaints about the female guide. She was lovely.

The hike was amazing. It was a nice day with plenty of shade. The tour guides, Norm and Isabel, were very hospitable and showed amazing like amazing waterfalls and other things. Overall, I had the best time.
