Your Itinerary

Ocean Joy Cruises

Travel by our complimentary round trip transportation from Waikiki on a comfortable air-conditioned motor-coach to the marina where you will board our 61-foot (18.5-meter) Kai OliOli catamaran for your 3.5-hour cruise. You can choose from three departure times — morning, afternoon, or sunset — to suit your schedule. Once we depart the marina, we’ll head north along the pristine western coast of Oahu to look for dolphins, whales (seasonal), flying fish, green sea turtles, and admire the beautiful unspoiled scenery. When your captain locates a pod of dolphins or whales, your boat stops to allow you to get an excellent view of the mighty mammals from the spacious deck. Your expert crew can answer any questions that you may have about the animals you see. Afterward, your captain steers the boat into a special spot for snorkeling. We provide your snorkel gear and detailed safety and snorkeling instructions. We have a roomy, comfortable sitting area with wide steps to allow you to comfortably put your gear on and easily wade into the water. Once in, marvel at colorful corals and multitudes of fish for an hour of snorkeling with guides available to assist you with fish identification and safety. Back on the boat, you can rinse off in one of the boat’s four warm, freshwater showers. Two changing rooms and restrooms are also available. Once the snorkelers return to the boat, the crew serves a sumptuous Hawaiian buffet that includes teriyaki chicken, kalua pig (pulled pork), tossed salad, rice and fresh fruit along with your choice of beer, wine, mai tai, or margarita (up to four alcoholic drinks included). As you enjoy your meal, we begin a leisurely cruise back to the marina. Throughout the cruise Throughout the tour, we serve unlimited bottled water and soft drinks while your captain and crew share the history and legends of the Waianae Coast. A professional photographer takes photos both above and under water which you have the option to purchase back at the dock before you depart.

We can accept collapsible wheelchairs and small umbrella strollers but they will be stored at the marina during the cruise. Wheelchair guests must be able to walk up a short flight of steps onto the bus and boat.

We have done many snorkel treks in Hawaii and our Ocean Joy Morning snorkel sail from the Ko Olina resort (April 2024) was one of the best. Catamaran was in great shape, tasty morning snack (poi bread pudding), excellent lunch buffet (kalua pig, teriyaki chicken, salad, fruit, rolls), plenty of beverages, friendly and helpful crew. Our one hour snorkeling offshore from the Hawaiian Electric Kahe Power Plant didn't have a lot of fish on our day, but we saw two large sea turtles. Its a bit pricey like the others, but we would highly recommend and would do this again.

Lots of fun! It was a very well planned day. The boat and crew were fabulous, weather was perfect for being on the water. We really enjoyed the boat ride, snorkeling and lunch - all were excellent!

The trip was amazing! It was our 2nd time booking this adventure with the previous being in Sept of 2022. The boat has been updated and is even nicer than it was originally. We saw several pods of dolphins and several sea turtles and many fish. Captain Patrick and crew took great care of us. The food was great, too. I highly recommend them!

The crew was wonderful. The boat smelled like a wet dog. The waves were too high for this trip, but I am sure the owner wants every trip to happen so we went and watched many people spend the entire time sea sick. Many could not go snorkeling due to the waves and there weren't many fish around. Crew did a great job in difficult situation.

We had a perfect day for our catamaran experience out of Ko "Olani! The crew was welcoming, enthusiastic & very knowledgeable of the environment. They explained everything from the safety precautions to how to use the equipment so that even novice snorklers ( several children) were comfortable in the water. We were luck enough to spy a pod of Spinned dolphins; out photographer, Maranda was able to capture pictures of them for all of us to remember! The highlight for my husband & I was to actually swim near a Sea Turtle; we also saw several others during out outing. I would highly recommend this adventure!

We had the best experience with the crew. We managed to see humpback whales (extremely lucky cos it was the tail end of the whale watching season), lots of sea turtles during snorkelling and even a rare sighting of the monk seal! The crew took great care of us and they really looked like they were enjoying their work!

We were so excited to get to see some whales even though the season is over. We went to a beautiful spot to snorkel and see such beautiful turtles. The food was terrific and the crew was professional and a lot of fun! We are so glad we got to go out on this lovely day on such a beautiful boat. We did the morning cruise and we liked that time of day.
