We did not appreciate much of the current exhibit “Going Dark” but that might be our problem and not that of the exhibit. Some of it was terrific and it was certainly challenging. However, the descriptions of the pieces and the artists were too long, too full of SAT verbiage and not helpful in understanding the art. The area of Impressionists was lovely. The design of the museum is certainly unique but you need your sea legs, Start at the top so gravity helps but we found the incline distracting. Lots of bathrooms but the ones we saw were so small and poorly designed that they were unusable for the women in our party. The cafe food was just average at best.

I visited the museum in 2014 and that was a mind blowing experience: brilliant exhibitions, unbelievable pictures, sculptures, impressionists art. Today I felt robbed of my $30. It was somewhat blm themed - all black, boring, pretentious, extremely untalented. So very disappointed.

Great Staff and exhibits Thank you Dave for making my day ! This museum have folks that you can ask about art. They have badges so u know you can approach them. Genuine and very engaging. They don't just talk. They want to know what u think ! It brings all the museum alive ! Dave was GREAT but there were others but I didn't catch their names. Also this museum was in a movie called The International were a gun battle was held in this venue. Nice to see the venue

I have visited a handful of times and always enjoy it. The permanent collection is nice and it is especially heart-warming to see that the museum is actively challenging colonial norms within the museum space. I do wish they would smudge the space, especially with the current exhibit as it is heavy and people leave all kinds of energy behind. I'm not surprised that people would have negative things to say especially at this time because the current exhibit amplifies voices that many folks are more comfortable with silencing. I am grateful for the shows the Guggenheim exhibits and will continue to proudly attend each time I am in NYC.

Building is iconic but the overall visit experience was lack lustre. Such a small amount of art on display with not a particularly strong exhibition. Disappointed that only the permanent collection gallery was open, Felt it was incredibly overpriced as an entry ticket, Managed to drag visit out to an hour because it was wet & snowy out but could easily have been out in 30-40 minutes, and we like art and often visit galleries/exhibitions. My advice - walk up to see the building from outside. Then as the ticket scanning isn’t done until you get further inside, go in, look up and see the interior then exit through the shop. Wish we had gone to the Met for 2 visits and just looked at the exterior of The Guggenheim.

Interesting building but so very little actual art to see for $30. Only like the very small permanent exhibit. Took less than an hour going as slowly as possible. And did i mention $30?

Went with my teen daughter to see the Frank Lloyd Wright building design. On the museum website, I purchased a $45 6-month membership which enabled me to buy a $5 guest ticket for my daughter. This was nearly the same as the daily rate of $30 for adults and $19 for students, but the membership gave us a 15 % discount in the gift shop, which we loved! The Guggenheim is smaller than expected, it's a quick visit to see all the artwork in an hour. The building was the star of the show here, not much on display in January 2024! We walked slowly up the spiraling walkway looking at artwork. By the time we reached the top level, we both felt a little unsteady and nearly dizzy from the constantly sloping floor. We took the elevator down. It was a strange design and a fascinating experience! I highly recommend it if you are interested in Frank Lloyd Wright. It's worth the price of admission just to walk inside, completely different than looking at photos!

Temp is about 75-80° inside around Christmas. I couldn’t find the answer to what the temp was inside and when I called they said “moderate” which told me nothing. I would go during the day as light is key when viewing art. For someone who runs hot, wear a tank. I can’t wear a sweater unless it’s below 50, so…

The Guggenheim is … the Guggenheim. Always a great museum to visit when in NYC. This years exhibits were interesting and a bit far out for our taste - but definitely interesting

I found this place very boring. We were in & out in 28 minutes and that included checking our coats, waiting in line for the bathroom and running through 2 gift shops. I guess “art” is not my thing.
