Your Itinerary

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is a sanctuary dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, research, education and quality animal care. AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides them with spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Most of the animals that arrive at the AWCC become permanent residents and will always have a home here. The Center maintains over 200 acres of spacious habitats for animals to feel at home and display their natural “wild” behavior. Visitors may see brown bears cooling off in the water, a bull moose strutting, wood bison roaming on pastures and more.

Beluga Point

This is a popular stop as you travel the Seward Highway. Here you'll find 180 degree views of Turnagain Arm. There's an extensive viewing area with spotting scopes and interpretive signs. This is an excellent spot to watch the bore tide. The incoming tide stretched the entire width of Turnagain Arm and can be six feet high as it rushes in. Watch for kayakers and surfers riding the wave for several miles. Look for beluga whales rolling in the surf (starting in September)

This tour offered a bit of everything iconic about Alaska. The small group (8) was the perfect size. We were able to stop at various points to see all sorts of wildlife—beluga whales, moose, sheep, salmon. Plus blueberry picking. Our guide,Phil, was knowledgeable and informative. It was truly spectacular!

Matt( The RN) was a very excellent and knowledgeable guide. He made us experience wading in glacial waters, short hike to waterfalls, and made the trip fun with a game ( ice cream for a price).I highly recommend Matt as your tour guide. Thanks Matt and God bless!

Ladies, don’t wait to potty at Flat Rock. 🥴 Toilet facilities were abhorrent. That was the only negative of the trip. Phil was so knowledgeable and able to answer most of our questions. The weather cooperated and we had a beautiful tour!

Our guide Matt was very knowledgeable and friendly. He spotted animals we did not know to be on the lookout. Taking us through the Wild life Conservation area he knew the animals by name and personality. He was so very accommodating to use needs as well as our wishes. It was a fascinating tour with a wealth of information provided to us by Matt. It was obvious he loved what he did and that joy was infectious. Wonderful Day even in the rain.

Our guide & driver, Phil, was beyond amazing! He was like having your best friend show you around. His knowledge was spectacular, & his driving was impeccable. He went far beyond our expectations, showing us the beauty of the Turnagain Arm area outside of Anchorage. Thanks, Phil, for making our day with you an awesome one in every way!
