Your Itinerary

The Ulu Factory

Learn the history, origins and how to use an ULU knife used Natives to flay whale and salmon.

Earthquake Park

Prior to arriving at Earthquake Park we will visit exhibits to learn about the 1964 - 9.2 earthquake.

Lake Hood Harbor

See the world's busiest Float Plane Lake.

Alaska Wild Berry Products

At Alaska Wild Berry Products you will see the World’s Largest Chocolate Water Fall! The falls incorporates over 3000 pounds of chocolate, authentic copper candy kettles, and a specially built warming and mixing system. The chocolate gushes out of the fountain head, cascades down the kettles, then settles in the swirling chocolate pool. And by the way, if you're tempted by the luscious smell to sample some of the flowing melted candy, please don't. The chocolate waterfall is for your visual enjoyment only. The store has plenty of delicious chocolate at the candy counter to your left. And you can sample before you buy.

Alaska Native Medical Center Craft Shop

Visit the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) – Ok, so if you're not native, you might think you would have no reason to visit ANMC, but you'd be wrong. At this hospital you will see one of the largest collection of Native Art from all around Alaska that represents over 227 federally recognized tribes in Alaska and rivals anything you will see in a museum. In fact, the collection is probably better. Here you will get a true flavor of Alaska’s rich Native history and learn about ANCSA. There's also a Native craft gift shop that will make you drool... They only mark up the art by 20 percent unlike the 150 percent markup you find downtown. And if you choose to purchase, wouldn't you feel good knowing that the proceeds from your purchase go to improve healthcare? Yeah, we thought so. Often there are Native Artisans on-sight selling their wares and even Native foods. Craft shop is closed on Saturday and Sunday and is only open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tour was amazing- confirmed with Ben who was the tour manager and was in excellent communication with us about departure point and texted us with details. Donna was an excellent guide. She was fun, incredibly knowledgeable and showed us the most important and interesting parts of Anchorage. Was our first trip to Anchorage and only here for a few days- so it was a great tour to see the highlights without wasting time. And the last stop Beluga Point was just breathtaking. Would highly recommend this tour!

After a few organisational issues, we enjoyed our tour around town. It was a great way to see Anchorage in the snow without worrying about where to go and how to get there. Our tour guide was very friendly and informative and made a significant effort to keep us entertained.

Chris is excellent. He knows history and with Anchorage his birth home, he made it so alive. And, the snow was icing on the cake.

Aunt Gary made it all come alive. The conversational histories, entertaining stories, invitations for any of our questions, super comfortable van and seats, and small group setting made it a delight. It was our first full day in Alaska. This is the tour you want and ask for Aunt Gary. Yes, ‘Aunt’ is his nickname because of all the cooking and gatherings he does for his groups of friends.

Donna shuttled us to the authentic Alaska ulu knife shop. Then off to see the mountain ranges, then we learned so much history of the area. I saw my first moose, and then another. Surprises along the way!! If you like small planes- wow, what a treat. Highly recommend this tour.

We took the city tour in June. Fortunately we were the only ones in the van so we were able to visit more with our guide, Gary. It was a fun an informative tour. We would highly recommend it, especially with Gary driving. We felt very safe and comfortable.

My goal for this visit was to see a real moose. I saw several and a baby moose came up close to check us out. It was a once in my lifetime experience. Our tour guide was friendly and informative. Everyone in our tour group was thrilled with the results of this tour.

If you want to tour Anchorage, I high recommend Alaska's Finest. It's a smaller company and do not charge what the larger companies charge. Chris was very knowledgeable about Anchorage and many of the hot spots around the area and down Turnagain Arm. You will go to a few shopping spots as well. Motor coach is comfy and the group we were with were all friendly. Disregard the comments from the spoiled people that think they know more than anyone else. Choose Alaska's Finest and you will not be disappointed.
